Accident on Construction Site Leads to Shut Down of Site

Developers have shut down a construction site on the Gold Coast, following a workplace accident which left a 37 year old worker fighting for his life.

The plasterer fell from the 7th floor at the Aura Varsity Lakes Apartments on Lakefront Cresent, which left him with multiple leg fractures as well as fractured ribs.

The man was put into an induced coma at the scene by paramedics who then rushed the man to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A co-worker said the man’s chest was swollen and his feet were blue.

Mates in Construction offered counselling to workers on site as well as ongoing support.
