Are You Working in One of Australia’s Most Dangerous Industries?

Annually thousands of workers are injured and hundreds are killed across Australia in work related incidents. Finder.com.au recently compiled a list of the most dangerous jobs in Australia based on government data.

According to Safe Work Australia’s Work related Traumatic Injury Fatalities, Australia 2015, the agriculture, forestry and fishing industry is the country’s most dangerous.

In 2015, the transport, warehousing and storage industry lost 40 workers .

Finder.com.au took these figures from Safe Work Australia and Work Related Traumatic Injury Fatalities report stats and combined them to create a Risk Score according to industry.

These are how the most dangerous industries in Australia were ranked

5. Wholesale Trade was responsible for 98 fatalities between 2003-2015.

4. Manufacturing saw the loss of 275 workers lives in workplace accidents between 2003-2015.

3. Construction is the third most dangerous industry with 469 people killed in that period.

2. Transport, postal and warehousing saw 754 work related fatalities between 2003-2015.

1.Agriculture, forestry and fishing  with recorded 744 workplace fatalities between 2003 – 2015 was top of the list.
