According to forecasts from The Housing Industry Association (HIA), Australia is on track to record the second strongest year of housing construction.
Australia’s housing market remains strong in the eastern states, despite predictions of a slowdown in 2017.
Experts predict 199,910 new house starts and multi-residential units throughout the nation in 2016, which is down from last year but still stong. The number of new house starts in 2015 were 220,060.
The states with the greatest number of starts are Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
