Brisbane Airport Runway Construction Creates Hundreds of Jobs

The Brisbane Airport’s new parallel runway is moving to the next stage and will create around 300 jobs in the process.

The $1.4 billion new runway is due to open in 2020 and will double the capacity at the airport.

The $120 million contract was awarded to McConnell Dowell by the Brisbane Airport Corporation.

An underpass is underway which will allow vehicles to travel under taxiways, connecting the new runway to existing terminals.

Work begins soon and is expected to continue until August 2018, creating up to 300 jobs.
