Canberra Construction Accident Claims Tradie’s Life

A 62 year old man was killed on the site of the University of Canberra Public Hospital when a mobile crane rolled onto its side and struck the worker.

The mobile crane was moving a large generator at the time.

According to reports ACT police and ambulance paramedics were called to the site at around 6:40pm last Thursday night.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. WorkSafe ACT is investigating the incident. The incident has prompted calls for stricter safety procedures to be implemented on the site.
