While the number of people employed in Australia across all sectors showing a decline, the construction sector is one that has defied the odds.

ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) data indicates a loss of 5,000 jobs in the Australian economy in September.  Despite these losses, the construction industry, the country’s third largest employer, employed 76,000 more workers in the 5 years to February 2015.

The number of new workers in the construction industry is expected to double in the next 4 years. In the construction sector we can expect 137,000-plus further new jobs by 2019.
