A worker was recently killed on the NorthConnex project, after an accident in which he was struck in the head by a piece of equipment.
The 65 year old worker was working on the Wilson Road compound when the incident occurred.
It is believed that the man was trapped for a while and went into cardiac arrest once he was freed.
The worker was rushed to the Westmead Hospital where he later died.
SafeWork NSW and NSW Police are investigating the incident and Transport Minister Andrew Constance said he would support them in their investigations. He also expressed his sadness at the tragedy and conveyed his condolences to the family.
