Construction has begun on the first stage of a cross border residential project which will deliver 6500 new homes in the ACT, and 250 jobs in its first stage.
The project is a joint venture between the ACT government and Riverview Developments with the first stage in the new north-west Canberra suburb of Strathnairn.
The project includes 30 stages of work on both sides of the NSW/ACT Border.
The NSW Part of the project is still awaiting state government approval.
The good news for construction workers is that once the project is approved on the NSW side, they will not need to repeat their mandatory Construction Induction training – The White Card course because it is nationally recognised. Once you have completed the online white card course, the accreditation gained in valid throughout Australia, making cross border construction work easier.
