Glass Shortage Dramatically Slowing Down US Building Construction

When the recession hit the US in 2008 the construction industry was badly hit which resulted in the closure of at least 11 glass factories. When construction rebounded recently and began to boom, a serious glass shortage became evident.

Architects and developers in the US are concerned about the shortage of glass for construction projects. And according to a post on Gizmodo.com.au there aren’t enough building products for skyscrapers and condos which are making up a large percentage of the construction projects in The US.

In fact the shortage is so serious that one real estate developer has opened their own glass manufacturing business – that’s one way to address a shortage.
