How Shoddy Supplies Are Entering the Australian Market

A Senate Inquiry has heard that cheating Chinese building suppliers are forging safety certificates to get sub-standard building products such as combustible cladding into apartment towers.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission boss Rod Sims has called for new laws to protect homeowners including independent checks on buildings as well as materials.

He went on to explain that the law needs to be changed because currently its not a crime to sell dangerous goods in Australia.
