Latest Monthly Notifiable Fatalities Report Released

The latest notifiable fatalities monthly report has been released and the results for February 2017 are concerning.

According to the report, there were 20 work related notifiable fatalities in February.

The report provides a national summary of work related traumatic fatalities that were notifiable to Australian work health and safety jurisdictions.

During February there were 14 male workers killed and 6 male bystanders.

Five of these fatalities involved a vehicle and three from falls from a height.

Two of these fatalities were as a result of electrocution and another 2 resulted from victims being hit by moving objects.
