New Benefits for Injured NSW Workers

There is some light at the end of the tunnel for injured NSW workers, with the announcement of 2 benefits that these workers are eligible for.

The first benefit is a new emloyment benefit of $1000 available to all injured workers who return to work with a new employer. Currently, 11,500 claimants are expected to benefit from this.

The second benefit, is the $8000 which has been set aside for education or training assistance. This benefit is only for workers with 20 per cent impairment, who have been receiving benefits for 78 weeks or more.

The state government hopes these incentives and support will encourage workers to return to work after an injury.
