Subdivisions and granny flat construction is booming in response to the tight housing market, according to data released from the government recently.
An incredible 75 per cent more people are building on their own land contributing to the rise in construction value in the state from $29 billion to $34 billion.
Granny flats approvals in the state were high, around 3650 flats approved last year. This equated to a 20 per cent increase.
