QBCC Takes Repeat Offender to the Supreme Court

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) has used its new Supreme Court injunction powers against a repeat offender who they say flouted the state’s building laws repeatedly.

The unlicensed individual was issued an injunction in Brisbane last week, preventing him from conducting building work.

The man may face imprisonment if he fails to abide by the order not to carry out any building work in Queensland again after already racking up fines to more than $27,000.
