Road Construction Blitz to affect Commuters in Melbourne

Melbourne motorists should brace themselves for long commute times during the summer construction blitz starting on Boxing Day and continuing until January 25.

The delays are expected to be the worst in recent years and will hit the Tullamarine Freeway over 3 days with all lanes being shut in both directions. This will affect traffic to and from the Melbourne airport.

Post Christmas sales, the Boxing Day Test at the MCG and people making their way to the Surf Coast are expected to contribute to the heavy traffic.

VicRoads will be monitoring the situation to minimise delays as far as possible.
