In a bid to boost the state’s struggling economy and help with the high unemployment rate, the South Australian government is contributing heavily to public infrastructure projects this year.
The government plans to create more than 2000 jobs in the construction sector this year and hopefully tackle the high unemployment rate of 7.3 per cent in November.
Projects to get underway this year include a new city high school, Adelaide’s Festival Plaza Redevelopment an the Northern Connector Road upgrade.
The state government also plans on building 1000 public housing dwellings over 1000 days.
Whether you’re getting involved in residential, commercial or infrastructure construction in South Australia, workplace health and safety laws mandate that you complete general construction safety training first and obtain a White Card as proof of having done so.
