According to Master Builders, thousands of interstate workers will be needed to sustain the construction boom expected in Tasmania.

The growing number of construction projects expected to begin in the state is most likely going to outstrip local labour supply.

The builders association said around 4000 interstate workers would be needed to fill the gaps, with a steady supply of construction projects planned over the coming month in both the public and private sector.
