Worker Injured in Mudgee Roof Fall

After a fall off a roof in Central New South Wales, a worker was rushed to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The worker fell off the roof of a Mudgee restaurant, after slipping and plunging to the concrete floor below.

According to paramedics, the man suffered serious head injuries and was transported to Sydney hospital for treatment.

According to statistics from Safe Work Australia, falls from height are one of the most common causes of injury in the workplace, accounting for 6900 worker hospitalisations in the period between July 2006 and June 2009.

The construction industry accounted for 36 per cent of fall related hospitalisations.
