Victorians will be happy to learn that the rate of injuries across the state’s workplaces are at a new record low.

According to WorkSafe Victoria’s half-yearly results Victorian workplace injuries have reached a new record low.

WorkSafe said as of 31 December 2015, there were 7 claims per million hours worked (MHW) in Vic workplaces, as compared to 7.34 claims recorded at the end of 2014.15. This indicates a fall of 4.6 per cent.

The numbers are particularly impressive given that employment in the state has continued to grow while injury rates continued to fall.
