A fire that broke out on a major construction site led to construction workers being evacuated and 2 of them being treated for smoke inhalation.
The incident took place at The Star Casino’s construction site when some pipework is believed to have caught fire.
It took 3 fire crews about half an hour to extinguish the fire which was described as a “small blaze”.
The site was evacuated according to safety protocols and no damage was done, a spokesperson said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
This incident highlights the importance of having an emergency procedure in place on all work sites and ensuring workers have received all the necessary safety training.
